  • The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Buddy Robinson to a three-year entry-level contract. Robinson recently completed his sophomore collegiate season at Lake Superior State. The Lakers fell to Bowling Green in the first round of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. A native of Bellmawr, N.J., Robinson played in 38 games this past season, registering eight goals and eight assists with 48 penalty minutes. In two years with the Lakers, he recorded 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) with 85 penalty minutes over 77 games.
  • The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Monday that forward Danny Briere is out indefinitely with a concussion.
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal suggests that Derek Roy could be a good fit for the Chicago Blackhawks, but that Chicago might not be willing to give up the high price the Dallas Stars will want in return. Roy has played very well in Dallas and has embraced his role as a true two-way forward and his value is rising as the trade deadline approaches. If the Blackhawks are indeed interested, they may have to battle with the Vancouver Canucks for a trade.
